Spring has sprung!

I'm so happy that spring has finally arrived! All of the bulbs are coming up and the forsythia bushes are blooming. I just love the colors of spring.

Can you believe that Easter has already come and gone? We've already had an 85 degree day here in New England. Today it seems to be overcast and a bit chilly. Gotta love this New England weather.....one minute we're wearing shorts and t-shirts and the next, we have our fleece jackets on! LOL

I've been absent from blogging for some time now, but, I'm trying to make the effort to get back into the swing of things. I've been card making and paper crafting the whole time. It's just that, when I make something it either goes right into the mail or I have to give it as a gift right away. I've been working two jobs for 6-7 months and everything I make has been last minute, which doesn't usually give me time to post. So, here are a few things that I made last week.

This bunny box is something that I made for each place setting at Easter Dinner. I used my big shot die to cut out the boxes and then the bunny is made using my SU punches.

The birthday card is for my Niece, Lilly's birthday using my new clear set of stamps from SU and the little milk carton which held a Pandora charm for her charm bracelet was made using my Big Shot again. I just love the little milk carton die.

Thanks for visiting and Happy Spring Everyone!!!

Back from vacation

Hello
I'm back from vacation. We left last friday and went to my mother's house up in Hillsboro, NH.. Then Neil surprised me and took me up to the White Mountains for a couple of days to my favorite resort for some relaxation time. It was a nice time and we couldn't have asked for better weather. The rest of this week we'll spend in our backyard by the pool. Hope you're all enjoying this hot weather. I'll take it, while I can get it!
This is a card that I threw together before we left and I forgot to post, before we left.

Happy Thursday Everyone!

Duckies!!!

Hi Y'all

I've taken quite a bit of time off from blogging, crafting & cardmaking, due to many personal issues. Like they say, "When it rains, it pours" and it's been pouring buckets on our family for months.

Speaking of "pouring".....it seems like it's been raining here in NH. forever! Believe it or not, it seems like our summer just started in mid-July. So, we've been trying to squeeze in some pool time and depending on whether it rains or not, we'll try to throw together last minute BBQ's on the weekends. Today, it's cloudy & muggy, but I hope it brightens up this afternoon.

I recently hosted a baby shower for my nephew and his new bride. The theme was rubber duckies. So appropriate, for the weather we've been having. I made the invitations, the centerpiece and also took a shot at my first diaper cake. The centerpiece doubled as the favors...it's individual cake boxes filled with candy, stacked to form a cake.

I'm working on a card today and some thank you notes....I'll post them tomorrow.

Thanks for visiting and I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!!

Favors & Invitations

I hope everyone is enjoying their Spring so far. It's nice to see all the kids playing outside again, riding their bikes and running around their yards. I know that I've been spending alot more time outside myself. It's been a long, hard winter and sometimes I feel like a grizzly bear that's come out of a long winter's hibernation. Can you believe that it's Easter weekend? Summer is just around the corner, I can feel it!
I've been keeping busy with party favors and invitations. Not much time for card making.
I re-made the favors for my nieces wedding shower and here they are. The first sample was too large...it would have fit 10+ Ghirardelli chocolate squares and the new version fits just 3 squares. Big difference in cost. It would have been almost $200. for just the chocolate and who can afford that right now!
Also, I've been asked to make some favors for a wedding and these are what I've come up with for the bride to choose from.....Let me know what you think? Which one would you pick???

The last project I've been working on is some invitations for a bridal shower. Her colors are black with an accent of sage. I found it difficult to work with these colors, but, I was pleased with how the invitations came out.....so was my client. (I'll post these when they're finished)

Happy Easter & Passover to everyone.......I hope the Easter Bunny is good to you all!!! Thanks for looking.

Favors for Wedding Shower

We had another snow storm today......It looks like there is another foot of snow out there. Good thing there was some thawing before this current storm. I would have hated to see another foot of snow in my backyard on top of what we already got this year.....my poor dogs are getting lost in all of this snow!

So, I decided that today would be a great day to start working on the favors for my Nieces Bridal Shower. Here is the first sample that I made. I have to shop for a patterned paper for the boxes and some satin ribbon. They were very easy to put together. They're made from a 8 1/2"x 11" piece of cardstock. I scored them on my Scor-pal and made a few cuts, folded and punched the flap and I was done. I have to make approx. 70 of these, so I wanted something simple. I will either fill them with Ghirardelli squares or some other type of candy (I haven't got that far yet). I got the inspiration and tutorial for these on SCS website, they're called the 2-5-7-10 Box. The label on each one says, "A Shower of Good Wishes for Dawn & Chad"

Thanks for looking.

Valentines Day

Happy Wednesday everyone! I just finished some Valentines goodies and I wanted to share them with you. I made 3 different wrapped candy bars and some more of those cute little "kisses" holders. Now I just have to work on some Valentines Cards to go with all of the candy. I'm hoping to get to work on those tomorrow night.

No, I didn't fall off the face of the earth!

Hi Y'all

I know it's been sometime since I've posted. Sorry for the absence. Work has been incredibly busy. Believe me, I'm not complaining considering the state of our economy. I've also had alot of commitments and not much time to dedicate to papercrafting. I've done a few things over the past week or so and here they are. I'm having a few friends over tomorrow for a Valentines workshop and we'll be making both of the cards and the heart boxes. The red treat holders have 4 Hershey's kisses in them and they are a little thank you gift for each person at the workshop. My friend Geri went to a class at our LSS and the teacher showed them how to make these. I thought they were kinda cute.
I've got to get working on some more valentines. I'll post them when I've got some more done.
